"Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding." Proverbs 23:23

In our article, "Do Christians Sin?" we covered how the Bible tells we should not self-identify with sin if we are born-again, but the deception is great in our time, and many have no understanding that self-proclaimed homosexuals who claim to be Christians are liars. The King James Bible not only condemns homosexuality, but even more specifically "effeminate" men:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, -1 Corinthians 6:9 effeminate (adj): having the qualities of the female sex; soft or delicate to an unmanly degree (See 'effeminate', American Dictionary of the English Language, Noah Webster, 1828, retrieved Dec 28, 2014 [webstersdictionary1828.com]) Men are given the role to be a man, and women are given the role to be women. The Lord God has made a separation between the two genders for our own good, and to try to take on a role you were not meant to have is abomination in the sight of God. However, the NIV changes this: "Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders"

The problem is that these new-age terms are vague enough to help the reader justify his sin. A "male prostitute" would mean only those who are committing sodomy for money, and a "homosexual offender" means it is not the homosexuality that is the problem, but those who would somehow "offend" someone in the process.

Anyone reading an NIV can easily interpret it to mean that it's acceptable to God to be a sodomite, so long as you don't anger your "partner" in the process. This is exactly how it's interpreted by homosexuals, and in Whosoever Magazine, an online publication for "gay christians," a pastor was asked for an answer to people who say that homosexuals are going to hell:

[After quoting the NIV 1 Cor 6:9] "[W]hile I am a homosexual I am not an offending one. I have been with my partner in a monogamous relationship for 18 years (married)... So, my child of God, my response to I Corinthians 6:9 is this: It says nothing about homosexuals who have loving, committed relationships and those versions of the Bible which use the word "homosexual" are wrong, their translation is in error."

In his mind, if any Bible disagrees with the lifestyle he has chosen, then it is wrong. That's called a presupposition, which means his foundation is not anywhere near the Word of God; his foundation is his own wicked heart because he'll follow that first and foremost. The false "god" idol he worships has to agree with his sin, or he won't worship it.

Another homosexual author, attempting to justify gays and lesbians with the NIV, immediately attacks the KJB at the beginning of his chapter on 1Co 6:9:
"I chose to use the NIV's rendering of these passages... The KJV's rendering is quite a bit different and only adds to the confusion..."

A man being intimate with another man in the way that is reserved for a woman to be intimate with a man is the very definition of effeminate. It's crystal clear to someone who spends the time to study it, but for those who want to justify their sin, they'll take any "version" they can get to escape God's judgment, and claim themselves to be wiser than those who have come before them.

Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools... Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: Who changed the truth of God into a lie... For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Romans 1 clearly describes homsexuality as "dishonour the body," "vile affections," "lies," "against nature," "unseemly," "unrighteous," and "worthy of death." If someone thinks sodomy is acceptable with God, there is a marvelous blindness in them.

It should also be noted that the term "homosexual" wasn't invented until the mid-19 century, but many sodomites try to say the Bible doesn't condemn homosexuality, because it doesn't specifically use the term "homosexual." The "Trinity" is not mentioned in the Bible by that word, but a Holy Trinity is still described, and it's hilarious that heretical websites like "Inherit the Kingdom," will argue for the existance of the Holy Trinity due to it's description in the Bible, but turn around and try to use the exact opposite argument to justify their sin:

The heretical website "Inherit the Kingdom," which attacks the KJB in their FAQ page because they use NIV, says:
"If 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 could be translated as '... homosexuals ... will not inherit the Kingdom of God', or anything like that, then this debate would be over... [but] We have to conclude that 1 Corinthians 6:1-10 and 1 Timothy 1:9-11 have nothing to say about same-sex relationships."

The Bible refers to them as "sodomites," after Sodom and Gomorrah.

There shall be no whore of the daughters of Israel, nor a sodomite of the sons of Israel.
-Deuteronomy 23:17

And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.
-1 Kings 14:24

Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.
-Jude 1:7

Even if homosexuals want to justify their sodomy, they are still condemned because it's fornication and adultery. They can't hide behind "marriage licenses" either because God's approval over marriage in the Bible, and the corporate business contract provided by the state, are two completely different things, so homosexuals will always be committing adultery and fornication, no matter what excuse they try to provide.

The reason the NIV is so lax on the homosexual issue is because some of its producers were homosexuals themselves. Virginia Mollenkott, an out-spoken lesbian, was a stylistic consultant on the NIV committee during its translation in the 70s: "My lesbianism has always been a part of me... I tried to be heterosexual. I married myself off. But what I did ultimately realize was that God created me as I was, and that this is where life was meaningful." -Virginia Mollenkott, NIV translator, quoted by Sue Pierce in an interview, The Witness Magazine, June, 1991, p. 20-23

Her life and her way of living was what was most important to her, not the Lord Jesus Christ.

He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.

Mollenkott teaches other women to seek after the lesbian life-sytle:
"Forcing gay Christians into silence also denies them the opportunity to celebrate in gratitude to God for their authentic nature and for their life-enriching mutual relationship with a loving partner"

Mollenkott is teaching girls to give praise to God for their wickedness and unrighteousness, but the Bible says:

Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit. Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not; And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
-Jeremiah 7:8-10

The Jews were saying, "Praise God! He delivered us so we can fornicate, steal, murder, and walk after whatever god we choose!" They think God loves them for all the wickedness they do, and that He created them with these desires, and that He is just like them.

These things hast thou done, and I kept silence; thou thoughtest that I was altogether such an one as thyself: but I will reprove thee, and set them in order before thine eyes.
-Psalm 50:21

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Mollenkott wrote a book, Is the Homosexual My Neighbor, in which she expresses her belief that the Levitical laws condemning homosexual activities are part of ceremonial law instead of moral law, or in other words, Jesus Christ dying on the cross made it acceptable to practice sodomy. However, anyone that reads Leviticus 20 can see that this is clear MORAL law, not ceremonial, as there is no ceremony for it.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination:

Mollenkott is on the list of people who worked on the NIV when it was published, but anti-KJV contender, James White, who has earned himself the nickname "Snow" White due to his spreading false information, did not bother initially to check the facts and denied the truth when he was asked:
"I've been told that there were homosexuals on the NIV translation committee. Is that true?"

"No, it is not. But due to the consistent bearing of false witness by many KJV Only advocates, [i.e. White scoffs at those who use the King James Bible, and accuses them of lying] Dr. Kenneth Barker, Executive Director of the NIV Translation Centre, had to write a response to the accusation, which I quote below:" -James White, The King James Only Controversy: Can You Trust the Modern Translations?, published Bethany House, 1995, p. 300, ISBN: 9781556615757

White continues to quote Dr. Kenneth Barker, Executive Director of the NIV Translation Center: "It has come to my attention that false rumours are circulating... that some NIV translators and editors were homosexuals and lesbians. These charges have no basis in fact. Thus they are simply untrue." -James White, The King James Only Controversy: Can You Trust the Modern Translations?, published Bethany House, 1995, p. 300, ISBN: 9781556615757

But despite what James White believes, Mollenkott herself said:
"So far as I know, nobody including Dr. Palmer suspected that I was lesbian while I was working on the NIV; it was information I kept private at that time."

Today, Virginia Mollenkott is still out-spoken about her lesbianism. I originally wrote this article back in 2011, and at that time, she had an upcoming lecture scheduled at Juniata College in April of 2012 entitled, "Being Queer and Spiritually Gifted."

It seems that neither James White nor Kenneth Barker even bothered to check out the claims before making their statements. Though there could be many reasons for not checking out the facts, I would think the main reason would be that if one translated (Barker) and/or defended (White) the NIV, it would be really embarrassing to admit the sinful nature behind the book, especially when one has so much money invested into its translation/defense.

Though White and Barker would insist that Mollenkott had no impact on the NIV, Mollenkott claims that she had a major impact since she worked with them for eight years on the project. (And that's not to mention the unseen spiritual damage on the NIV project.) Even if they want to hang on to their strand of hope for the NIV, Dr. Marten Woudstra, chairman of the NIV committee and head of the Old Testament translation, was a homosexual himself.

"Dr. Woudstra, who died in the early 1990s, was a long-time friend of Evangelicals Concerned Inc. This organisation was founded in 1976 by New York psychologist, Dr. Ralph Blair, as a nation-wide task force and fellowship for gay and lesbian 'evangelical Christians' and their friends... Dr Blair told me that Dr. Woudstra shared the viewpoint of ECI that lifelong 'loving monogamous relationships' between gay men or women were acceptable to God. He believed that there was nothing in the Old Testament (his special area of technical expertise) that corresponded to 'homosexual orientation'. The 'sodomy' of the OT simply involved temple rites and gang rape... Dr. Blair clearly stated to me on the phone on 23rd September 1997 that Dr. Woudstra, a lifelong bachelor, was a homosexual."

Mr. Penfold continued his research to make sure:
"Taking the scriptural principle of two witnesses, I will now add the comments of Clarence Boomsma regarding the sexuality of his friend Dr. Woudstra, the Chairman of the NIV Old Testament Committee. Boomsma made the following statement to me on the phone on 25th October 1997; I wrote it down verbatim: 'It is generally believed among us [Christian Reformed Church and Calvin Seminary] that Dr. Woudstra was a homosexual.'"

So when two people are giving two different accounts of an event, we can do exactly what police detectives do: Look at the motive. Is there any motive for people on the NIV committee to lie about a dead collegue and claim he was gay? No. Is there any motive for Mollenkott to lie about herself and say she's a lesbian? No, but there is a lot of motive for Kenneth Barker and James White to lie about there being no homosexuals on the NIV committee, since they both make more money if what they tell us is true.

The sad part about this is that even Virginia Molenkott was surprised that people like Barker and White trying to cover up her involvement in the creation of the NIV. Mr. Penfold contacted her about this issue as well:
"Because I am idealistic and sincere, it never occurred to me that anyone would lie about my contributions, so I was not meticulous about keeping records. Thank you for anything you can do to set the record straight."

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

Why would anyone trust people like this to translate the Word of God for them? Keep in mind that most new-age church buildings use these types of new-age versions, and that means you are taking in information that was edited by wicked men and women for their own selfish, sinful purposes, and that also means you're learning the doctrines of devils.

Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
-1 Timothy 4:1

They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak... Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?... The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

When we pick up our Bibles and claim it is the Word of God, we need to know what we're talking about. If the words of the Lord are pure, that means if there is corruption in your Bible, it is NOT the Word of God, and we should sanctify ourselves from such wickedness.
