General Discussion / God is with us
« on: September 11, 2019, 02:28:00 PM »
Hi Everyone :-)

I thought i'd post something here in the general discussion area.
Yesterday, i started doing something different...and it is helping tremendously.  So I wanted to share.
Please, give me your thoughts on this.

As many of you know, my son Joshua has been very ill, for these past two years.  And every day, I have cried out to God for Him to please heal Joshua.  This journey has been heart-breaking, and humbling, and the Lord is teaching me SO much.

So, i've been looking up at the sky, and telling God that "i am putting this in His Hands."  Looking up at the sky and seeing the beautiful trees and birds, is relaxing to me.

But, yesterday, as i was driving to the market at 6:30 AM (to get some red cabbage, to make sauerkraut for Joshua)... it was SO quiet and the idea came to me, "why don't i just 'talk to God' as if He is right next to me..."  Of course I have been praying to Him, crying out to Him, and giving thanks to Him for the Blessings He gives us.  But I think i've been "talking at Him."

So, this is different.
Now, I've been "talking to" Him, throughout the day, and this is making me more CALM  :-)
Really knowing He is with me (He is everywhere)...is helping to take away the fear and anxiety/anger, makes me more gentle, knowing He is right next to me, humbles me and makes me "Be still and know that He is".
He gives me strength.  He is with us.

Hebrews 13:5 - 13:6
5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Psalms 46:10  Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

General Discussion / To Nate, if you happen to check the forum...
« on: May 24, 2019, 04:17:37 PM »
Nate, if you happen to check the forum, for any new comments...
Hopefully, you will read this.

Because I truly care about you, i am having conviction about the comment I posted on your "Introduction"

" ...   Praise God that He saved your soul, and that you continue to follow Him.  "

Please know, that I speak with the utmost concern about you.  my post here, is to re-tract the comment I made, because I don't want to mislead you and affirm your belief that you are saved, in case you are not truly saved.
The matter of your salvation is of utmost importance.  Please, don't assume that you are saved just because you said the "sinner's prayer" ... It is the wicked churches that are leading many, many people to this false belief, that they are saved "because they said the prayer"...
please stop to examine yourself.  The evidence seems to point to you not being saved.

If you have been saved for 20 years, there should be more humility, and less anger/rage; it seems you would have God's Peace.
After seeing your behavior, it appears you were given a "false assurance of salvation" by "saying the sinners prayer" (as many of us did).

For 33 years, I falsely believed I was saved...but I wasn't.  That is scary, to think I may have continued that way, and then the Lord would say that He "never knew me."
Matthew 7:23   And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

The group here really does care about you and your salvation, and everyone is trying to get you to understand.
But it is only God who can open your eyes.  We pray that He will.
Christopher has posted many, many appropriate verses from Scripture.

This is a matter of your eternal life, or death.  It is urgent, that you examine yourself and know if you are truly saved.  Please, stop and think about the rage/anger you have, and ask God to take that away, and that He fill you with His Peace, so that you can clearly think about things, and so that He can bring you to a true Repentance.

All of us here, welcome rebuke (so we can correct ourselves and be right with God)
It is crucial, but you do not welcome any rebuke?
Titus 1:13     This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith;
Proverbs 13:1     A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

Our Lord God has truly given wisdom to Christopher Johnson.  Yet, Christopher continually prays for any pride to be removed, and he welcomes correction/rebuke, and then judges himself.  It is rare to find any teachers out there, who are willing to do that.
Ecclesiastes 7:5        It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools.

Be honest with yourself... is it pride that keeps you from wanting to hear rebuke?  (i, too, had much pride and the Good Lord can take that pride away, and we ask Him to keep the pride away from us)
Proverbs 13:10   Only by pride cometh contention: but with the well advised is wisdom.

Psalms 73:6   Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.

Proverbs 16:18     Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Proverbs 29:23     A man's pride shall bring him low: but honour shall uphold the humble in spirit.

1 Timothy 3:6   Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.

Mark 7:21-24   For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,
Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:
All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

Proverbs 11:2   When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

Proverbs 8:13   The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.

1 John 2:16  For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

The group here at CLE is a gift from God, where we can continue to grow strong in our faith, amongst Christians who truly want to be right with God--and who are done with Churchianity, and the false teachings of those churches.
We pray the Lord watch over you.

General Discussion / Hypothyroidism
« on: October 25, 2018, 09:53:13 PM »
There are at least two people, in our group here, that have mentioned they have hypothyroidism.  It runs in my family, too.
So, for possibly fixing the problem...naturally...here is an article i found.

https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-3139/13-Ways-to-Treat-Hypothyroidism-Naturally.html

summarized, it says:

"Your Dietary Defense
Making dietary changes is your first line of defense in treating hypothyroidism. Many people with hypothyroidism experience crippling fatigue and brain fog, which prompts reaching for non-nutritional forms of energy like sugar and caffeine. I've dubbed these rascals the terrible twosome, as they can burn out your thyroid (and destabilize blood sugar).

1.  Just say no to the dietary bungee cord
Greatly reduce or eliminate caffeine and sugar, including refined carbohydrates like flour, which the body treats like sugar. Make grain-based
carbohydrates lesser of a focus, eating non-starchy vegetables to your heart's content.

2. Up the protein.
Protein transports thyroid hormone to all your tissues and enjoying it at each meal can help normalize thyroid function. Proteins include nuts and nut butters; quinoa; hormone- and antibiotic-free animal products (organic, grass-fed meats, eggs, and sustainably-farmed fish); and legumes.

No soy and soy products: tofu, soy milk, fake meats, energy bars, etc. Even when organic and non-GMO, soy can impede cell receptors and disrupt the feedback loop throughout your entire endocrine (hormonal) system.

3. Get fat.
Fat is your friend and cholesterol is the precursor to hormonal pathways; if you're getting insufficient fat and cholesterol, you could be exacerbating hormonal imbalance, which includes thyroid hormones. Natural, healthful fats include olive oil; ghee; avocados; flax seeds; fish; nuts and nut butters; hormone- and antibiotic-free full fat cheese, yogurt, and cottage cheese (yes, full fat, not skim); and coconut milk products.

4. Nutrient-up.
While nutritional deficiencies may not be the cause of hypothyroidism, not having enough of these micronutrients and minerals can aggravate symptoms: vitamin D, iron, omega-3 fatty acids, selenium, zinc, copper, vitamin A, the B vitamins, and iodine.

A few highlights:
It's commonly believed that hypothyroidism is due to insufficient iodine, but this isn't true. Dr. Kharrazian states that if you have Hashimoto's, taking supplemental iodine is like throwing gasoline on a fire, so eschew iodine supplements and iodized salt. Primary sources of iodine: sea vegetables and seafood. Secondary sources: eggs, asparagus, lima beans, mushrooms, spinach, sesame seeds, summer squash, Swiss chard, and garlic.

Optimal vitamin D levels are between 50-80 ng/mL; anything below 32 contributes to hormone pathway disruption.
Omega-3s, found in fish, grassfed animal products, flaxseeds, and walnuts, are the building blocks for hormones that control immune function and cell growth, are critical to thyroid function, and improve the ability to respond to thyroid hormones

5. Go 100% gluten-free.
The molecular composition of thyroid tissue is almost identical to that of gluten. So for those with Hashimoto's, it's a case of mistaken identity. Eating gluten can increase the autoimmune attack on your thyroid.

6. Be mindful of goitrogens
goitrogens are foods that can interfere with thyroid function. Goitrogens include broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, cauliflower, kale, kohlrabi, rutabaga, turnips, millet, spinach, strawberries, peaches, watercress, peanuts, radishes, and soybeans. Does it mean that you can never eat these foods? No, because cooking inactivates goitrogenic compounds and eating radishes and watercress in moderation isn't going to be a deal-breaker.

7. Go for the glutathione.
Glutathione is a powerful antioxidant that strengthens the immune system and is one of the pillars of fighting Hashimoto's. It can boost your body's ability to modulate and regulate the immune system, dampen autoimmune flare-ups, and protect and heal thyroid tissue.

While few foods contain glutathione, there are foods that help the body produce glutathione: asparagus, broccoli, peaches, avocado, spinach, garlic, squash, grapefruit, and raw eggs. A plant substance found in broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage, (those goitrogens), helps replenish glutathione stores.

8. Address underlying food sensitivities.
Just like the body's attack on the thyroid in the presence of Hashimoto's, the body will also see offending or inflammatory foods as an invader and will up the ante on the autoimmune response.

9. Do a gut check.
A whopping 20 percent of thyroid function depends on a sufficient supply of healthy gut bacteria, so it's best to supplement with probiotics (friendly intestinal bacteria).

10. Address silent inflammation with whole foods nutrition.
Systemic inflammation and autoimmunity often go hand-in-hand.

11. Address adrenal fatigue. There is an intimate connection between your thyroid and adrenal glands and it's uncommon to have hypothyroidism without some level of adrenal fatigue. The thyroid and adrenals are like Frick and Frack, so tightly in cahoots that is not effective to address one without the other.

12. Look at your stressors and practice relaxation.
The thyroid is a very sensitive gland and is exceptionally reactive to the stress response.

13. Ask for the thyroid collar.
The thyroid is sensitive to radiation, so next time you're getting an x-ray at the dentist, ask for the thyroid collar. Do not let your thyroid get zapped! "

The doc sounds like she knows what she's talking about.
Hopefully this helps  :)

Introduce Yourself / Hi Everyone :-)
« on: March 05, 2018, 01:15:50 AM »
Hi Everyone,

My name is Dee, so happy to be here!  To give you my background, I am married for 31 years and we have three sons, ages 19, 25, and 26.  My youngest son, Joshua, and I are born-again christians.  We have been with CLE church for 2-1/2 years and are so grateful that our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ led us to this church.

More background, I was raised Catholic, but left that church at the age of 20; thanks be to God, The Holy Spirit convicted me to get out of that church.  After leaving, I was not in God's Word (the Catholic church had NEVER encouraged members to study the Bible) and regretfully, I slowly strayed from God, falsely thinking I was saved because I had been "born into a church, and I had been baptized as a baby, I was keeping the commandments, etc."  I was so misinformed and was heading down the wrong road.

Thankfully, at the age of 33, by the Grace of God, my eyes were opened and realizing my sin, I repented with a Godly sorrow, and was born again, Praise God!  At that point, I began attending Calvary chapel with my young sons, for nearly 20 years, until Joshua and I found CLE.

(I should mention, when we first left calvary chapel, at the same time we were checking into CLE church we were also checking into the Seventh Day Adventist church, for six months).  Thankfully, God opened our eyes to the SDA church, as well.

I found CLE when searching online, for something I had heard..."Christians should not forsake the gathering of themselves."  That is when God led me to Christopher's article on the "501c3 churches ".  I completely agreed with everything written in the article and showed the article to Joshua.  We checked and found Calvary chapel was a 501c3 corporation, and we stopped attending that church.

Instead, we began to spend our weekends reading and listening to the articles on CLE and have not missed any Sunday CLE church meetings.  Now, we actually look forward to church on Sunday's.  It truly is a joy to belong to CLE church, where we can learn God's Truth, using the KJB, and be with like-minded Christians.  What a blessing to have found such a church family.

We are thankful God has put this desire in Christopher, to teach God's Truth, and for the many teachings that Christopher has made available to all of us.  The teachings are very relevant, and clear, and simple to understand, and have been a blessing to our lives.
