A few weeks ago, apparently a story broke, where (in)famous prosperity "gospel" personality "bishop" TD Jakes was outed as being involved with a lot of young men, even a few under legal age. That one actually came as little surprise to me, especially when he was galivanting around with a few well known people in hollywood (enough said), but the thing I found interesting was the reaction to it, as in a lot of people were surprised, as if no one ever saw it possible that he was capable of this.

Two quick an easy lesson to take away from this, number one, I dare say fame is poisonous. If everyone is speaking well of you, you're doing something very wrong, and when someone is spoken highly of in the entertainment circles, then there's every chance they are of the world and not of God, or as some places in the USA say "Lie down with dogs and you'll eventually get up with fleas".

Point two, and I know Chris has said this a number of times but there are sill WAY too many people that do this, respecting persons is sin, as James states in Chapter 2:

2:1 My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, [the Lord] of glory, with respect of persons.
2:2 For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;
2:3 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit
here under my footstool:
2:4 Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?
2:5 Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom
which he hath promised to them that love him?
2:6 But ye have despised the poor. Do not rich men oppress you, and draw you before the judgment seats?
2:7 Do not they blaspheme that worthy name by the which ye are called?
2:8 If ye fulfil the royal law according to the scripture, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself, ye do well:
2:9 But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, and are convinced of the law as transgressors.

I'd also like to point out in 2:7 that James says they also blaspheme the name by which we are called. For those of you who aren't familiar, the prosperity gospel has two gods, money and themselves, they're the quintessential example of the section in 2 Peter Chapter 2:

2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2:2 And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
2:3 And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation
slumbereth not.

If you know anything about the name...then you know. But seeing as how Chris is going through Seventh Day Adventism being a cult, started by a woman who received no more than a third grade education due to a head injury in her younger years and...I guess there's no other way to put it...spouting some of the absolute lunacy she did in her "prophecies" (I hate calling them that because they are pure fantasy at best,) I know some people out there are probably asking themselves "How does someone get that messed up to want to start their own cult?"...well, it's not hyperbole, Christian (birth name Christopher) is probably the best most recently documented person who might end up becoming something along the same lines if he remains unchecked.

It's an exceptionally long story that I can't even begin to completely document here, even in bullet points, but the short story is he's basically a man who is a highly functioning autistic who's partially famous for amalgamating cartoon characters and calling them his own, but also for being a target of a lot of trolling throughout his life since he started using the internet, and basically became the internet's first "LOL cow"...in old school terms he's considered a sideshow attraction if you will, but in the last few years after being obsessed with women (to put it mildly) for decades and being jailed for certain lewd behavior (the most family friendly terminology I can use here again,) he somehow came to believe that he was the reincarnation of Jesus Christ himself (this was after convincing himself that he was internally a woman, ludicrous I know, but his story is full of insanity,), and now released from prison he is now asking for "tithe" and probably a whole bunch of other stuff, but anyway. There are enough youtube videos out there documenting his life story, but if you want to know how cult leaders begin, this might be an interesting case study.

What does this have to do with cult leaders? Well, I think aside from demonic influence and control, a lot of cult leaders don't just happen overnight, they're not only created through years if not decades of mistreatment, but also from influence through their own fantasy or imagination. No, imagination isn't entirely negative, but it's something we have to keep a tight set of reigns on, as it mentions in 2 Corinthians:

10:4 "(For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) {10:5} Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;"

Another reason why it's good to have a firm grounding in the bible.

PS: Apparently Chris Chan was attending a church building for much of his life, and I believe his "pastor" will have a lot to answer for because not only the "pastor" but the church counsellor who was assigned to him did little to nothing to curb his downward spiral. (I seriously doubt either one knew much if anything about the bible themselves to be honest, but that's personal opinion, I don't have any proof of that.)

General Discussion / How do you tell the difference?
« on: September 14, 2023, 01:50:02 PM »
Just wondering,

In current day and age, we have more people who've swallowed new age philosophies hook, line, sinker and in some cases the rod and reel as well, and whenever you come up with a counter point to anything they believe in, they love throwing out the line "well that's your truth." regardless of the evidence. I'm genuinely wondering, if they love categorizing between "someone's truth" and THE truth...how can the tell even tell the difference when so many of them are willing to basically say "well that's your opinion" when you give hard evidence to a truth that's right in front of them?

Has anyone managed to get through to them? If so, any tips on how to do it?

General Discussion / "I went to heave/hell" Who's telling the truth?
« on: July 29, 2023, 08:04:14 AM »
Any of you who've been saved for a while and checking out various ministries have probably heard claims from some people who say they've died and gone to heaven, or what seems to be a rarer case, they've died and gone to hell. While a lot of accounts seem to be wildly inconsistent between recounts over the years (seriously, one guy claims he went to heaven but didn't see God in his book but on speaking tours he claimed he did.), but even on the other side of things, I remember the account of someone who was into variants of black magick found a lot in central America, claimed to be taken to hell at one point, but once he claimed to be saved, he became very closely associated with Creflo Dollar, one of the greediest con-men in the "word of faith" movement, it does beg the question who is to be believed? I know the obvious answer would be "which one lines up with scripture," and that's the first thing to check out, but I believe as far as sinners go, to bring them to repentance of sin, wouldn't it make more sense if God showed them where they could end up if they die in their sins?

Has anyone else here heard any accounts of either experience, and did it seem legit? or did it stink of a publicity stunt?

General Discussion / Thoughts on incense?
« on: July 08, 2023, 06:52:46 AM »
Just wondering peoples thoughts on using incense sticks or cones?

I know they are used virtually everywhere in eastern religions and in a lot of celtic pagan religions but in the bible it also mentions burning of incense in the temple as well.

No, I don't burn it as an offering to anyone or anything, there are some that smell good and last a bit longer than air fresheners, but I am wondering if there's anything that might be attracted by it that shouldn't. On the other hand I also don't want to be one of those "that's not what I use it for so it's fine" kind of people either.

Any tips or pointers?

I know it's not an easy question, but when it comes to modern day I keep asking myself, are things getting crazier? Or was it always this insane, we're just hearing about things more now that the internet and social media is able to more immediately connect people and events on the other side of the world. I think the answer might be a bit of both.

But if you ever wondered why the warnings on idolatry are so overt in the old and new testament, then you need look no further than today's entertainment industry. It's not hard to see that people in the spotlight are objects of worship in ways too numerous to list, but one name that was popping up recently was Taylor Swift, who for some reason had people spending literally tens of thousands of dollars to get seats to her stage shows (only way I can process that in my mind is that she's seen as some kind of deity that people will give up all kinds of things to get close to) and even, and no I'm not kidding, wearing adult diapers so they don't have to miss a moment of the show. Then this headline popped up from the 1440 Daily Digest, I didn't grab the full article because it's behind a paywall, but I think this is enough of a summary to get an idea.

"Some Taylor Swift fans are reporting “post-concert-amnesia,” with some fans taking to social media to share their symptoms and feelings. Symptoms include not being able to remember key moments from the show and entering a dream-like state. Psychologists say emotions might be behind the amnesia. Dr. Michelle Phillips, senior lecturer in music pyschology at the Royal Northern College of Music, says it’s not that fans won’t remember the show but that fans will remember only some aspects of the show."

And yes I know psychology will want to cover up what the real cause might be because they are trying to find any excuse to replace sin, but this reminds me a lot of older videos I used to see with Bagwan "Osho" Rajneesh and his commune in Oregon that involved so called meditation that put people into a trance like state, and even the dough eyed empty look you'd see from those in The People's Temple back before their mass slaughter in Guyana. I'm calling it a two part problem, part one, this would have to be some kind of demonic influence on a crowd which does happen at these kinds of concerts as well as from major celebrities who have sold themselves for money and fame, and I think the second part is people opening themselves up to receive things like this. Also I have to wonder if the demonic influence is becoming greater these days too, because just a quick overview of music trends in the last even 20 years, it's not hard to see that everything that anyone else would refer to as talent (the ability to play your own instruments, write your own songs, come up with your own poetry etc) has simply nose dived. No, I'm not defending popular music, or any music for that matter, but it doesn't do anything but state that there has to be some kind of spiritual force at play here when what would have been rejected as absolute garbage only a few years back is now lauded as good.

One other interesting link I remember hearing was that often time in the bible, fornication can also mean spiritual fornication, which is what was talked about in Revelation 17 when John is describing the whore of revelation,

17:2 "With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication."

In the new dispensation, there are few things that we are directly commanded to keep away from, and I think this is because so much of what we look at today and call sin, can easily fit into these few categories. In Acts for example:

15:29 "That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well."

And in 1 John

5:21 "Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen"

On a slightly different but related note, I remember hearing an old proverb about fame once, and it's still shown pretty true today "Fame is an empty purse, count it and go broke, eat it and go hungry, seek it and go mad." I used to want to be in the industry, but praise God he showed me how rotten and empty it all is. These famous people may as well be sock puppets for all of the personal input they have on what they do these days, and I don't know how far any of them have gone down the ugly rabbit hole to get where they have, but if you know someone who's in it, wants to get in it or is getting chewed up by it, all I can do is ask that you pray for them because that's still someone who is as lost as we were, and without Christ, their eternity will only be that in the lake of fire.

Something of an update I found during the odd google search but it did bring something to mind. Chris covered Kent Hovind and why he's a false teacher and out and out con man, so for those of you who went through that teaching/book this will come as no surprise.

Chris Jones apparently has been charged with this time assaulting a 9 year old, and big surprise, Kent is brushing it off.

https://www.thedailybeast.com/friend-of-dinosaur-adventure-land-preacher-kent-hovind-charged-with-child-sex-abuseagain

Now I know that these are charges, as far as I know he's not been convicted of anything new, but his previous criminal record of sexually assaulting children (plus Kent STILL willing to cover for him.) isn't exactly working in his favor.

This does bring up what I want to mention though when if any of you have ever studied cases of cult leaders, cult followers etc, etc, eventually they can't keep the façade of lies forever, and, big shock, the bible gives us an insight into this in 1 Timothy 6:9:

"But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. {6:10} For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows."

And in Romans 1:28:

"And even as they did not like to retain God in [their] knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; {1:29} Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, {1:30} Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, {1:31} Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: {1:32} Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them."

Ultimately the greed of cult leaders makes them lose their ability to hold up the lie that the put on as a front to the public and they make small errors then larger errors that will make their mask slip and end up resulting in their downfall in one way or another. Will Kent live long enough to see his own downfall? (by which I mean seeing a good portion or a lot of his followers turn against him), Well,  only God knows on that one but two things are glaringly obvious...if he's still defending Chris Jones then there's a big chance the Kent is involved in similar activity (just a hunch, no I don't have any direct proof on that one, it might be something else but I can't think of anything more likely.), and when Kent ends up having his public mask shatter and people see what he's really alike, dead or alive, then that's only going to be used by anti-theists and evolutionists to say that their religion is true because "look how bad our opposition is".

Chris said it in the teaching but the unseen damage that Kent is doing can have eternal effects for some people in the worst way possible. So I guess I could say eventually there's going to be a win and a loss on that one. Kent's "ministry" will eventually fall (although sadly there will always be another con man to take his place), but will have a negative effect for those who are legitimately trying to preach the gospel to the lost.

I can only pray that those involved in cults like this, or even Kent himself will be given repentance to realise the damage that he has done and be saved...although it's going to take nothing short of a miracle to puncture pride that thick, and at 70 years old, God is still merciful in giving him time to repent but eventually that'll run out, and eventually he will be called to account, one way or the other.

General Discussion / "All is vanity and vexation of spirit"
« on: March 24, 2023, 12:05:48 PM »
Just thinking about things that are going on in the world, and if anyone is feeling anxious about the state of society, economy etc, etc, I even have to remind myself of a lesson I learned a while ago, as King Solomon did in Ecclesiasties {1:9}

"The thing that hath been, it [is that] which shall be; and that which is done [is] that which shall be done: and [there is] no new [thing] under the sun. {1:10} Is there [any] thing whereof it may be said, See, this [is] new? it hath been already of old time, which was before us."

Thanks to a horrible choice in relationships in my early 20s, I ended up loaded in debt from a house and car that honestly I should never have been approved for on my salary at the time, but ultimately it was my foolish choice for signing on the dotted line. I did a lot to hold onto it, but the person I was buying the house with turned very selfish (even though she was paying nothing towards the bills or house) and eventually I had to declare bankruptcy, long story short. I came to the realisation that a car is just metal, glass, rubber and wires...there's no life in it, it doesn't love you, what's the point in fighting for it when it's destroying you? What's the point in trying to hold onto a house when it's just bricks, mortar, metal and plasterboard, there's no life in it, it doesn't love you back. I'm not at all pleased with having to declare bankruptcy but it ended up teaching me a valuable lesson, I might not have bowed or served those things but they were my primary focus and they weren't worth it.

Things will come and go in this world, but as I was discussing with my wife when we were discussing the subject of children and owning a house, she loves the idea of owning a house but she loves the idea of raising children properly more, and I don't think there's anything more important than trying to raise the next generation in the LORD. The lost souls are more important than any physical thing in this world, even as Christ said in Matthew 6:19:

"Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: {6:20} But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: {6:21} For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

As born again believers, we do not hold things of this world in high priority, but just saying, if you're worried about how you might be able to feed your family, take care of your parents or even eat yourself some days, don't forget:

Proverbs 91:7: "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right  hand; [but] it shall not come nigh thee."

Matthew 6:25: Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more
than meat, and the body than raiment? {6:26} Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them.
Are ye not much better than they? {6:27} Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? {6:28} And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of
the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: {6:29} And yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. {6:30} Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which to day is, and to morrow is cast into the oven, [shall he] not much more [clothe] you, O ye of little faith?"

Hope you don't mind a bit of a thought process post, but even though I went through it I also need reminding of this sometimes, because even as wicked as I was, even today when I sin (no one wants to admit it, but we're going to spend the rest of our lives fighting against it, so there's no point in admitting we don't because it's a lie.) the LORD has still been so merciful and gracious enough to provide me with shelter, clothes, food, and best of all, forgiveness of sins, and we have a everything to thank him for, good and bad, because the good is an open sign of his loving kindness, and the bad is his way of teaching us in life. Take comfort in the fact that He's in control, always has been, always will be  :)

General Discussion / First try at fasting
« on: March 06, 2023, 12:55:37 AM »
Just wanted to give some feedback about Chris' advice on biblical fasting (no food for a set period of time, only water). I tried my first voluntary fast last week over a 5 day period to help with problems of temptation I've been having, and so far it's been the strongest help I've ever had.

It's amazing how much the hunger urge can overcome other urges when it kicks in, but even after a 5 day period, I was only just starting to experience occasional weakness (although that might have been from some yard work I tried during the fast), but it really is a good exercise in patience and self control. I can tell myself to "shut up, I don't need it" or try to find something else to occupy my mind with until said cravings go away.

A couple of bonus things about it, is not only does it allow your stomach to shrink a little and the body to cleanse, but I also had reminders of how grateful I should be for every piece of food and every mouth of liquid to drink I have, because without God's say so, I would have nothing.

How has anyone else fared at a long term fast, and do you have any other tips or tricks to help others in future? Thanks :)

Law/Legal / 501.c3 Equivalent Worldwide
« on: January 22, 2023, 01:26:16 PM »
Hi everyone,

I know there's the extensive book and audio on here but from everyone around the world could you say (if you know) what your country's equivalent of the 501.c3 tax exemption contract is in your country? I've tried looking it up in Australia and all I've come across so far is I think a QC16641, it's only a 3 page form, but almost guaranteed there's a volume worth of fine print somewhere, always is with government organisations.

General Discussion / A few tricks for cold and influenza season
« on: January 14, 2023, 08:47:25 AM »
I know it's already half way through winter in the northern hemisphere, but I just thought I'd share a recipe for some fruit juice I use whenever I get sore throat, clogged sinuses, or related symptoms.

1 generous root of ginger,
1 bulb of garlic
1 pineapple (or oranges, whichever is in season)
1 kg (2lbs) of sweet apples (pink lady apples are my go to)
1 kg (2lbs) of lemons
1 pinch to half a teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or couple of whole fresh cayenne peppers)

Juice the whole lot, mix together, depending on your tolerance to spicy things, take straight if congestion is severe, water down with coconut water or pure water if it's too spicy.

Can also add other things like colloidal silver or turmeric for a little super charge, but do not take if you have sore or inflamed throat and/or tonsils.

I actually wanted to try this out if I ever got "covid" like symptoms but by the time I actually caught it, I found it to be weaker than the seasonal influenza so I didn't bother. Admin, feel free to delete if not allowed but I think the best way to kick these things is naturally, take what God made and leave the body to do what it knows how to do. Enjoy  :)

General Discussion / There goes pope "Heil"
« on: December 31, 2022, 10:38:43 AM »
Just in case anyone hasn't heard, Joseph Ratzinger (AKA former pope Benedict, and yes he was also in the Hitler youth brigade), has dropped off his perch...and found out how wrong he was. While the office of the pope wields a lot of worldly power and an obscene amount of wealth, and despite the fact Benedict was put in charge of the new office of inquisition, I'd say it's also worth keeping an eye on a guy named Arturo Sosa, or the current Jesuit General. Keep in mind, the types that run these organisations, I mean the ones that REALLY run them are not going to be in the spotlight for obvious reasons (and yes I'm pretty certain the Jesuit General also fits into this category of also being a puppet), but whenever one figurehead dies in an organisation like this, the new one that pops up is quite possibly going to be an excuse for things to change, and often time it's for the worse.

Just keep in mind things getting worse in this world was promised in the bible, disease, earthquakes, wars, rumours of wars, famine, false prophets...it's no surprise to anyone who is paying attention to scripture, after all in Romans 3:4 "...let God be true, but every man a liar;...".

I think there's two things we need to keep in mind from this, life is short, eternity is forever...and also if you have friends or family who are unsaved, roman catholic or not, please try finding a chance to talk to them about the law, so it can be the school master that leads them to repentance and to Christ. If you don't see an opportunity to talk to them about it in a one on one conversation any time soon, pray that you might be given the opportunity or another born again believe might get the chance, and even if it might be at the cost of friendships or even peace, someone should tell them.

John 15:13 "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."

The Vatican has no love for it's subordinates, they try to create an unbelievably complicated pipe dream of salvation when the gospel is so much simpler.

Just a bit of a thought rant...I know that after today Joseph Ratzinger is going to be eulogized greatly as "Mother" Theresa, Billy Graham, Martin Luther King Jr, pope John Paul II, Walter Martin and so many other wolves were when they died, but the amount of damage they did and souls they led to a Christ-less eternity in hell makes me as angry as it makes me heartbroken.  :( :-\

Admin, feel free to delete if not allowed but one comment Chris made in his teaching about speaking in tongues, that breaking wind means more than the babbling that some of these supposed preachers are saying.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkisQ3XD5RY&t

Here's a small tip of discernment for newcomers, if the guy standing up behind the pulpit acts like he could greatly benefit from a colonic cleanse or a heavy dose of probiotics, IE makes a face like he's just followed through and hoped no one noticed...there's every possibility that said alleged preacher is not of God, because excessive theatrics in a church group is not biblical.

While I admit I did laugh at the timing of certain soundbites in the video above, I do find it sad that so many people still seriously believe in these guys and how much false doctrine and blasphemy they've spread in their careers, not to mention the hundreds of millions of dollars they've scammed out of poor and desperate people.

As we've heard countless times in Matthew 23:14 It still rings glaringly true with the "word of faith" and charismatic mobs especially:

"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows’ houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation."

General Discussion / the Neural-link
« on: December 04, 2022, 02:16:55 PM »
Just in case some of you haven't heard about this one, I'll try and be brief, but this is something Elon Musk has been going on about for a while and some kind of milestone trials are supposed to happen either this year or next year. From what I understand, Neuralink is supposed to be a technology that allows the brain to link to any current technology we have, simplistically put, allowing you to plug your head into a PC and upload and download data like you would put music or pictures on your phone.

Now anyone who's seen a science fiction movie or knows anything about computers and knows anything about the description of the end times in the book of Revelation should be having major red flags going up. No, hacking something isn't as simple as hollywood made it out to be over the years, but I can't shake the feeling that if someone knows how to upload a new language or other information to the brain, someone is working on, or has found a way to upload other things to the human brain, the sort of thing that rumoured projects like the Monarch program has been experimenting with for decades, and it's predecessor programs before it.

If this could make someone programmable like a piece of computer hardware, then naturally with an update that's required almost daily for some things, could the Neuralink be a contender for the mark of the beast? Or part of it? Well it fits one part, something taken IN the forehead (not on the forehead as so many people believe), and with certain updates here and there, someone could be programmed to worship the beast without any possibility of resisting.

I think it's fair to say we live in an age where certain people worship technology, especially when you have people lining up around the block for days for a new phone (which are actually getting LESS versatile as time goes along, removing expandable memory, no more removable battery, touch screen only etc)...it's a massive source of pride, people being able to look at nanotech lights on a panel and say "wow, look how great we are".

There are a lot of conceptual road blocks to the whole thing, such as the actual programming language the human brain might use, and how horrendously things could go awry if programs put in aren't 100% perfect (and lets face it, no program is), but also what the physiological issues could be over time, because the human body is able to heal, adapt to certain things short term (eyes adjusting to light conditions, shivering in cold, sweating in heat etc), and even more things over longer periods of time (what some people would call races, it just people acclimatizing to where they live over decades or centuries, and even microfractures in bones being filled with calcium deposits which can make them tougher and less receptive to pain). Electronics and machines don't get this luxury and even in optimal conditions, it would need to be replaced from time to time and people would need to go on anti-rejection medication virtually forever, but then again as the last couple of years have proven quite blatantly, medical ethics and care take second place to profit and prestige.

Sorry for a long rant on this one but I'd love to hear what anyone else thinks. I know this only covers part of what the mark could be but I think it's something to keep an eye on, especially since Elon has somehow become a rising hero among a lot of conservatives due to his recent purchase of twitter, reinstating those who were permanently banned from the platform for "hate speech", including Trump, and his talk about revealing some of the stuff that was going on behind the scenes at twitter, but going a little into speculation, this could be a smokescreen, something to increase his notoriety and make more people accept the stuff he's selling.

Thoughts?

Introduce Yourself / Chris' introduction
« on: October 29, 2022, 12:09:28 PM »
Umm...hello,

I'm really not sure where to start, but I was born into a Christian family, and even though I was told I was saved at a young age and we had parts of the Autherised version (KJV) read to myself and my brother when we were children, I couldn't really point to a repentant point in my life until 2020 when I tried reaching out to an assistant pastor at a baptist church. I actually came across the CLE website after a google search looking up what a very anti-theistic work manager tried saying that the bible condoned and encouraged slavery (of course that's not true, he was probably reading "The Message" version or some other horrendous attempt at a translation). At that meeting with the assistant pastor I did feel a lot of grief, sorrow and pain over the fact I had broken all of God's laws and at this point I did ask Jesus Christ to come into my life and save me by the power of his shed blood and the power of God. I didn't get what had really happened though until I heard Chris' teachings on repentance and even though I'd never really been a church goer and even felt uncomfortable in a good number of church buildings I'd tried attending, I realised how few people actually teach what is actually involved in the conversion process and someone actually being born again. Too many teach that it's enough to believe, but what does belief matter if you don't understand the gravity of sin, the breaking of God's laws and what judgement awaits the lost...and what Jesus Christ actually went through to save us.

I don't know if it adds much to the conversation listing off some of the things I've done pre-salvation but I can definitely say that from the things I've had experience with, Chris Johnson is definitely telling the truth with these teachings, but the bible is still the canon of scripture, inspired by the Holy Spirit of God, written over thousands of years and is the word of God, everything that anyone says should be tested against the bible, and I believe that any born again believer should make a concerted effort to study the bible, this is a good way to pick up on false teachers too.

This feels a little weird posting this online, because I know that at the end of the day, no one on the forum knows me, and you have every right to be wary of new-comers, to say nothing of some of the other people who have been trying to spread weird ideas and doctrines on said forum...but from everything I've seen, I'm more likely to find down to earth and intelligent conversation on doctrine and other subjects here, more than anywhere else I've seen.

Not sure how to end this, but I suppose thanking you for reading is one way. Thanks.
