Bicentennial celebration, Springfield TN
« on: August 31, 2019, 08:19:44 AM »
Jeremy and I are planning on preaching on the Town Square in Springfield tomorrow afternoon. Yes, this is the same Springfield that threatened us with arrest of last year. But after the threat of a lawsuit they have agreed to not enforce their ordnance which they had specifically fashioned against us to stop us from preaching. They have not yet had time to officially rewrite/correct the ordinance.

The headliner for the bicentennial celebration is a band called Shenandoah. Supposedly a Christian band, of course. Jeremy did a little research into some of the lyrics. Here is what Jeremy sent me:

//
Thought you might like to check out my lyric research on the good ol' "christian" country bands for Sunday...

Shenandoah Lyrics: "Little Bit Of Livin"

A little sip of somethin' on a Friday night

A little buzz a-burnin' never felt so right

Pretty little thing, gonna let you by

A little sip of somethin' on a Friday night

chorus ...If you ain't got a little, better get you some
A little bit of livin' never killed no one ---> never killed no one?? Rom 6:23 The wages of sin is death - Ezek 18:20 (also vs. 4) The soul that sinneth, it shall die.

"Rock My Baby"

After work, me and the boys

Go down to Killey's and we make some noise

Feed that old jukebox and play some air guitar

Well and there's nothin' wrong with shootin' pool

And having some fun and acting a fool - NOTHING WRONG with fools?? Ps. 53:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity, Ecl 5:1 ...fools: for they consider not that they do evil., Prov 14:9 Fools make a mock at sin:, Prov 13:20 a companion of fools shall be destroyed. Prov 13:9 it is abomination to fools to depart from evil. Prov 1:32 the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. Prov 1:7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

I'm going home and rock my baby tonight...

Champagne and a box of candy

A dozen roses might come in handy

To help loosen up those apron strings ---> Sure... use some booze to help "rock" his baby. All this from the band that sings "Heaven Bound"

"Heaven Bound"

(I'm Ready)  Its been a long day, Lord, and I've worked hard

But now I'm goin' to my final reward ---> Yep. Boozin', buzzin' fools have a final reward in a furnace of fire! Matt 13:41-42

It's your love and I just can't wait

To be standin' at the pearly gates

Restless Heart Lyrics: "That Rock Won't Roll"

Then we'll see if that rock won't roll,

They say the girl's got a heart of stone.

That rock won't roll,

Oh, but she's too pretty to be alone.

I've got all this love inside me,

And I've just got to see,

If that rock won't roll.

"Why Does It Have To Be (Wrong Or Right)" - One filthy, rotten adultery song, literally blaspheming God's Word by the very title question, and then saying "somebody please tell me"

It's no secret

Somebody waits at home for you

And I know how hard

This is for you to do

So if you really believe

This love is so wrong

We don't have to carry on

But still I wonder

Why does it have to be

Wrong or right?

Why does it have to be

One way or the other?

Won't somebody please

Please tell me

Why does it have to be

Black or white?

Why do we have to hurt

One to love another?

Oh, tell me why?

Why does it have to be? ---> Why? Why is adultery a black and white issue? Why do we "HAVE TO"... commit adultery?!  "Won't somebody please tell me?" Yeah, it's called the HOLY BIBLE heathen! HE told you. All of this abominable filth from the band that recorded "O Holy Night" and "Angels We Have Heard On High", of course the easy money X-mas project.
//

Please pray for this outreach. That the police what do their jobs properly and people's hearts would be prepared to receive the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Nehemiah 8:8 KJV — So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

This is typical "Christian" country music.
As long as you say Lord once in awhile and mention going to church from time to time you must be Christian, right?

Exodus 20:7 KJV  Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Nehemiah 8:8 KJV — So they read in the book in the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense, and caused them to understand the reading.

Showing again how vain the phrase "Bible Belt'" is.
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. Genesis 1:26 Who can say that man is an animal?

The Bible belt is to hold up the pants of hypocrisy.  8)

Country music is really the worst in terms of sounding like a so called wolf in sheeps clothing. I would rather listen to rap music with the same lyrics because that sort of thing is kind of expected with that genre. Besides I quite honestly prefer the sound of rap or hiphop (just the music, not talking about the filthy language or anything like that). Country guitars are grating noise to me.

This preaching went well at this event. Though there were Police, firemen, state troopers and who knows what else they basically ignored us. I expect to be start posting the video tomorrow morning.

Being left alone is great. Again, you're making their jobs easier in the end.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.
-Psa 34:18
