Bible Discussion / Re: What is the Church?

Interesting points Kevin,

Who is the beast? Because antichrist is not mentioned one time in Revelation. You would have to show me the verse in Scripture that says, "that antichrist" is "the beast".

Being that there are two types of people in the world, those in Christ, and those without... If you are not sealed with the Spirit of God... You have only one other option.

I will be doing a Study of Revelation Chapter 1-22 once I finish Matthew 24.
Not really going to get into it now, but just some food for thought:

Rev 13:
16 And he causeth ALL, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 and that NO man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Eze 3:
8 Behold, I have made thy face strong against their faces, and thy forehead strong against their foreheads.
9 As an adamant harder than flint have I made thy forehead: fear them not, neither be dismayed at their looks, though they be a rebellious house.

Proverbs 15:
9 The way of the wicked is an abomination unto the LORD: but he loveth him that followeth after righteousness.
26 The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

If you are without Christ: Your WAY (the mark of your hands) and THOUGHTS (mark on your head) are wicked abominations.

Jude
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not: but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.

Ecc 3:
For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

If you are not born again, you are still bound by the strong man (satan) (Matthew 12:29/Mark 3:27) and according to Jesus Christ:
John 8:
44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

BTW Kevin, I am truly grateful that you identified that statement!
Because I have read over that verse so many times, I had never noticed the two 'it's' in 1 John 4:3.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. Proverbs 27:17 :)

Reading for the first time on a deserted island I think that I would get the impression from scripture that an individual was going to come who is referred to as the antichrist.

Interesting point Kevin. Certainly John Nelson Darby would have also came to that conclusion if stranded on a deserted island, thankfully I have you guys to correct me if I say something that's not true or purely speculative. Thanks for correcting me!

Regarding "that antichrist":
And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:3

Taking precept upon precept, it should be noted THAT antichrist is an "IT" and according to John, "IT" is a spirit and is already in the world since John's day.

Hi Jeanne,

No, I haven't shown this to him because I posted it here, within 10 mins after I finished typing it. I sent him my response previously, which you read approximately 80% of the conversation. I ended the messenger chat with, if He cannot see from the theme of Romans that Gentiles are grafted into the already existing people of God and Scripture states over and over and over again that it's ONE body, then we truly have nothing further to discuss.

He already threatened to terminate conversation unless I read his Pre-Trib book and I'm not going to do it because the authors other writings lack clear exegesis and rather is full of presumptions.

hmmm...willful ignorant: Sadly, after showing proofs to pastor that the word 'nation' is not exclusive to Gentiles and that Israel is included in the word 'nation' per John 11:48, I received a direct quote from him: "OK, so I will give you that the word can be used for the nation of Israel, That being said, I still can't see a general resurrection, call it years of study in another position, Call it stubbornness, call it me having absolute assurance in that position, call it whatever you want."

Good day saints!

Just had some things on my mind and wanted to vent so I stopped working on other things to share. Sorry if there are grammatical errors. This is not an official article or anything, just spend a few hours venting on the keyboard... haha. I pray you may learn something you didn't previously know about the Word of God!

Wow! Fantastic testimony and Praise the Lord for the teachings on this website! Christopher has a big T-Rex at the top of the website, maybe you guys have common interest in dinosaurs! Either way, welcome to the Forum, it was great learning a little about you and your walk with God! After reading what you wrote, a great heaviness came over me and it reminded me that I also was unworthy.

And I wept much, because no man was found worthy to open and to read the book, neither to look thereon. Revelation 5:4

But

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9

It's no accident, you are in the right location, this is the most open honest place I have experienced. Continue in the Truth of the Word and your will overcome your temptations. Those in Christ have a new mind, new life, new purpose. Again, welcome!

General Discussion / Re: The Catholic "men of God"
« on: August 16, 2018, 12:19:50 AM »
Jeanne,

Those are gruesome... men bonding children to let dog's rape them... :-\ and rapes of infants...
Most of those professors are not claiming to be "men of God". Some of the things listed in those articles, I couldn't even imagine.

"And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart." Genesis 6:5-6

It makes me wonder just how wicked the evil that God sees, things we have no idea about that men are doing in secret.

This article is sick, but I had to share it because of the deception in terms.

https://edition.cnn.com/2018/08/14/us/pennsylvania-catholic-church-grand-jury/index.html

The attached article outlines the abuses of hundreds of Catholic priests against THOUSANDS of children and the report said this:
"Priests were raping little boys and girls, and the men of God who were responsible for them not only did nothing; they hid it all."

A man of God would do everything they could to put these wicked demonic priests behind bars. But they are not men of God.
Ye are of their father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do... John 8:44

God knew this would happen, so He gave direction:
Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband. - 1 Corinthians 7:2.

However, these men were not just fornicating, they were abusing the little children.
It were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and he cast into the sea, than that he should offend one of these little ones. - Luke 17:2

The rest of the report provides details of the depravity of these "men of God", it's Nauseating.

General Discussion / Re: Keeping Sabbath in America is impossible!
« on: August 13, 2018, 11:55:39 AM »
Hey Kenneth,

I was reminded of the article I recently shared regarding Good Friday. In the article I wrote,
"Can something be more Holy than Holy?
ie. Is 'Holy week' more Holy than the week prior? Or the week after?"

It was rhetorical because the answer is of course - No.

The same principle can be applied to the Sabbath.
Exo 20:8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.

What is the command?
Jesus said "For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day."
A Spirit filled man, has Christ within. It should grieve the Spirit when we are disobedient and live unholy.
The tabernacle is mobile, it's within us. We need no more a building made with hands.
But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building; Hebrews 9:11

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy (1 Peter 1:16)
For those born again in Christ; we are to be holy - always.

The tabernacle of the Lord is our body; the living sacrifice. So then, everyday for the Spirit filled Christian is the sabbath.

Our lives are to be holy in all manner of conversation. For me, there is no difference between a Monday and a Friday, or a Tuesday and a Sunday. I'm thankful everyday for God's mercy and seek that He will provide me with opportunities to glorify Him. Before Christ, I was an alcoholic, but because He Redeemed me, I'm no longer bound by Satan; The wages of sin is death and the sin of drunkenness has lost its sting in my life. Drunkards shall not inherit the Kingdom of God.

All that being said, I wouldn't postpone drinking on the "sabbath day" and wait until the sabbath is passed to drink. I do not drink at all, because I worship Jesus everyday. I seek to glorify God in my walk and in my talk. My fear is hypocrisy, in the sight of my wife and kids, for those that I've shared the truth of God's word to, and most importantly: to Jesus Christ himself.

For do I now persuade men, for God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10

I don't look forward to Friday or Saturdays or Sundays, as the days themselves...they are all the same to me. When I was without Christ, I looked forward to the weekends, because I loved darkness rather than light, because my deeds were evil.

The sabbath day was a shadow, but the body is Christ.
Those seeking to esteem the day as holy, are condemning themselves.
For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. James 2:10
...For that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God. Luke 16:15

Hopefully you can use something in there for the people you meet,
Chris

I call "Hollywood" "Hellywood," but it is not a railing accusation to which evil is transferred, meaning "exchanging evil for evil" would have to be done towards an individual, not against inanimate objects or institutions.

Great explanation! Thanks Chris, I want to be clear in the event I find myself straying from Biblical truth during my own writings.

Ok, can't argue with Scripture. This is a genuine question for the church and not a joke because I want to be clear on the matter:
Does the not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing truth as a matter of name designations... applicable to individuals only and not for institutions?

For example is it perfectly acceptable to say, "pastors learned these things in their wicked "cemetery" schools".
But if the name calling is against an individual then we refrain? or using wicked Steven Anderson is acceptable without modifying his name?

Just trying to determine if name-calling the institution would hinder anybody who has attended said institution from listening to the teachings if name-calling has been implemented on their system of education.

Thanks.

Hahaha! you changed his name three different times, the last one is kind of catchy; Satan Andersnake.

I had this image in my head of what it looks like when he preaches. Years ago, I watched the cooking show 'Hells Kitchen'.
I equate Andersnake preaching to seeing unsaved Gordon Ramsay standing at a pulpit during a dinner service.
The cussing, the anger, the violence. The difference is Gordon Ramsay doesn't actually hate people.

I don't understand what you're talking about.

I'm sorry, I attached 2 links in my post. Both are JW Bible tracts that were given to my oldest daughter. I was under the impression you were always looking for things of this sort. If there is a preferred way of delivering this sort of material besides the Forum, I'm happy to comply.

If you do not wish to see the wicked Watchtower materials that are being distributed in the Philippines (or any other materials; Catholic or otherwise), no problem, disregard my post  ;)

34
Sorry, forgot to mention, it scanned in a bit bright, so to see some of the verses, you may need to download and tweek the brightness.
Also, page 15, I noticed they used something called the "Today's English Version" when they quoted Ecc 11:4. I wonder if that's an off-shoot of the NWT?

Chris

Chris, I enjoy all of your teachings, so glad you finally got to the JW's. The other day, my daughter was approached by a JW here in Philippines, she's 16 and wasn't sure how to respond to them, so we'll be following along together with your teaching.

I scanned in their propaganda so you can use it if you want to, either now or a future revision.

I read over it briefly, I noticed a couple things immediately.
1. From cover to cover, there is not one mention of the Lord Jesus Christ. (not that their Jesus is the one from the Bible, it's very telling where their heart it)
- BTW, I love that "incognito jesus" in the teaching. Every time you say it, I'm chuckling.

2. Page 5 for example; says "Marriage is not a solo act. Husband and wife must work together to make it successful." - Christopher
- Who is Christopher and why should I care what he says? haha
- This practice of random names with random quotes it littered throughout.

3. Page 12, presents the 9th "secret of successful families"
- The words on the picture say, "With a strong personal identity, you can withstand powerful storms"
- All I could think of in response is: And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth - Genesis 10:8
- Safe to say, Nimrod had a strong personal identity and DID NOT identify with the LORD.

That is an interesting concept. Chris Johnson's articles are what inspired me to start doing something for the Lord. Truly, I cannot do what Chris J does, his articles are jam packed full of sound teachings and the errors of men. I do prefer to examine a particular verse at great lengths, as evident by the Daniel article, I think I used 40 pages on 2 verses. I'll have to consider the matter, thanks Jeanne!

Just wanted to share an article I wrote several months ago. It's less than 10-pages, and it was written to dispel the Good Friday myth instituted by The Catholic Church. I actually taught this in the presence of a few Catholics and they did not seem overly offended by the truths.

I reviewed Chris Johnson's Easter article and he had touched on part of this regarding the Passover/days of unleavened bread being 8-days.  His teaching was more focused on showing how the other Bible versions have arbitrarily removed the word 'Easter' from Acts 12.  This is more directly focused on the specific day Christ entered the tomb until Resurrection based on the spice preparation of the women!  Enjoy!

Sorry, forgot to highlight this verse:

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Compared to everything I highlighted in Ezra
