General Discussion / Re: How to eat a pine tree
« on: January 25, 2022, 02:57:35 PM »
I love the idea of a food forest, when my wife and I moved into to our property several years ago we started buying foraging books for edible and medicinal uses an it turns out there are hundreds and thousands of plants that grow wild out here to eat and use. In the spring and summer we can pretty much live off the land with the help of our garden but then storage becomes an issue in the winter along with less growth. Thanks for posting that video it was pretty cool, also I have gotten a lot of information from plantabundance and edible acres on YouTube if anybody else was interested in this kind of thing
We've been trying to invest in jarring supplies for if or when our local shelves become empty but the stuff is kind of expensive!

General Discussion / Re: Chocolate Rabbit Solutions

I work at a Hershey Chocolate plant where we make pretty much every pagan animal or symbol represented in the holidays. (Eggs, bunnies, pumpkins, etc.) Its really irritating to have to be right in middle of where theyre made and operate the machines that make them. Thankfully everybody else is tired of seeing them as much as I am and I dont usually get told "happy whatever holiday." I do have to explain why I dont celebrate them alot though which is good.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Caleb's Introduction

Hi Caleb, it's nice to meet you. I was wondering when you were saved? Did you come to repentance? What is it that brought you to repentance? I didn't see much information about your relationship with Jesus or Jesus at all in your testimony and just want to get to know you better

Hello Celeste, it's nice to meet you:)
Praise the Lord for healing you out of alcoholism

I was just about to ask that Jeanne, Chris T, I have found that when you read the KJB, you gain understanding much more quickly and on a deeper level. If the Lord is willing to give it to you. We have discussed the bible versions as a church and believe that it is the preserved, perfect word of God.
The other versions are corrupted and change words to mean something different, and it is much harder to gain understanding of scripture. There are a number of verses taken out too.

Job 28:28 (KJV)  And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.

Hi and welcome to the forum Chris.
How were you actually saved and how did you first come to Christ?
You don't have to give every detail of what happened, but I'd like to know what you understand about what salvation is and how people are saved.

General Discussion / Re: Questions about anxiety and depression

Ian,
In calebs last post he said for the forth time that this was an old issue and seems like he was doing a lot better. I know you're just trying to give advice, but it sounds like caleb wants to be done talking about it.
Can we please respect caleb and drop it for now until he/if he ever wants to talk about it again? He even asks us why we keep bringing it up and then you posted an entire quote from 3 months ago and a full explanation to what you think he should do.
Caleb said it is an old issue 4 times and he wants to know why we keep bringing it up. Why are we still giving him advice?

General Discussion / Re: Biometric clocking systems
« on: February 07, 2019, 10:35:31 AM »
I think they send out the same type of short wave frequency to detect the chip inside the card. It's called wave id made by RF Ideas, the RF stands for radio frequency. Whether it's bad for you're health or not, it seems too closely related to what IS bad for your health.

We have to scan our badges at work. To get in the parking lot, then again to get in the building, and again to clock in. The time and place everyone scans a badge is recorded. What I don't like about it is the radio waves that are used to detect the badge being swiped. I have done a little research on certain frequencies of radio waves like 5g wifi and stuff and how bad it is for your health. I don't know if it's true or not, but I try to avoid exposure when I can.

General Discussion / Re: Lies of the devil teach false doctrine

I agree Dee, I was unsure how to put into words how I felt about him but you seemed to pinpoint exactly what to address and ask him which then showed his true colors.
Just remember that if asking him if he has repented or knew what repentance is upsets him, theres probably a problem.

From fred:

Allow me to say again that the greatest blight upon Christianity and the earth at large has been the allowance of divorce and remarriage by the modern church
Thats the "greatest blight upon Christianity and the earth at large"? Seriously? That's number one?
Quote
For God allowed unbelievers to divorce so that they wouldn't kill each other;
is there scripture for this statement?

Can I also discern that there is very little love shown on this website?  And I won't back this up with scriptural verses as these are well known.  I also have a Muslim friend that I have asked to read my post and she is astonished by the meanness in these dialogues - yes it is obvious to non-believers

It is not the purpose of this forum to make people feel good about themselves or their sin, but rather to judge righteous judgement and to rebuke when it is needed.

I agree with what had been said, there's not much else to say Fred. It sounds like you need to get your priorities straight before you dive into trying to disprove "false doctrine"

Wild Emails @ CLE / Re: A Letter From a Priest of Satanism

Quote
They still hate me in the end because they realise I've been leading them along but it leaves them with nagging thoughts of things they thought they never had to think about in the past.
I pray that satanist has gone away agonized and deeply troubled over the things you wrote to him.

 Kevin,
I was thinking the same thing as I read the letters back and forth. I was never in a position of Satanist or anything, just someone living in sin and not caring about my fate, but it took someone asking me questions and quoting scripture to get me to think about myself and what I was doing and how I was living. (Thank the Lord Jesus)
I was also hoping as I read that Robert actually read the scripture that Chris quoted, because it should cut his heart. I don't think that this is good and I don't know why I have these thoughts, but I kept thinking "I doubt he read any of that."

Fred,
I know you don't know all of us yet, but sabotaging someone's post to make them 'come across as an idiot' is not something that any of the moderators of the forum would do.
There's not one place that you can look at on the forum part of the website to find all of the examples, but this has been happening for a while now, to myself included. It wasn't done on purpose, there is something wrong with the software somehow. I usually 'preview' my post and see if it looks ok and copy it before I post a long one.
Just of the top of my head I can think of at least 5-10 times that this has happened, and the top right hand side of the forum gives a disclaimer.
Chris J even said he would read what you had to say, so there's no use in getting disgruntled over it

General Discussion / Re: Getting used to making mistakes
« on: January 21, 2019, 10:41:46 PM »
Ian, would you be able to re-word your original thinking and question behind your post? In order for someone to answer your questions they would have to assume some of your thinking behind what it is that you are getting at.
Also, you repeated the phrase "hold onto the fact that I am human," I'm not exactly sure what that means or what you're getting at, so I would like clarification as to what that means.

Introduce Yourself / Re: Josh W-21 from Indiana
« on: January 11, 2019, 02:48:48 PM »
Hey Josh, it's good to have you with us. I am glad to hear of your past and how God brought you out of your sin and showed you the truth.
I am pretty young, like you, (23) and I was wondering how often people look at you sideways when you tell them about your past and how you were converted? If someone I meet at work wants to know more about me I usually start with my past sin and how I don't desire those things anymore and I tell them why. (You summed it up pretty well) and they always give me a funny look and ask how or why I am so "mature." At that point I feel uncomfortable bringing any glory to myself so I give it to Jesus for bringing me out of the hole I was in. I have a feeling that the only reason they act so surprised at my words is because of how young I am.
Anyways, I was just curious if you had any experience with these reactions.

I agree 100% with your decision. I couldn't stand reading this whole thread but couldn't seem to stop reading it, LOL
His responses remind me of something that may be in a wild emails thread, I literally could not make sense of ANYTHING he said... It was as if he was sitting at the computer and just typing in the first thing that randomly popped in his head at any given moment, mid sentence.

Bible Discussion / Re: Why Do I Have Scary Dreams?
« on: December 31, 2018, 03:29:20 PM »
An analogy is an agreement or likeness between things and similitude is likeness or resemblance, still I have to ask, what is the conclusion you are coming to?
Again, the verse connects the phrase multitude of dreams with many words using "and", I am not sure what the question is

Ecclesiastes 5:7 (KJV)  For in the multitude of dreams and many words there are also divers vanities: but fear thou God.

Quote
Would it be correct to conclude there is an analogy, in Ecc 5:7, made between "multitude of dreams" and "many words"?

What do you mean by analogy?
The verse connects them using "and"
I guess I'm asking whats your point in concluding there is an analogy between the two?
