Bible Discussion / When Did Daniel's 70 Weeks Begin?
« on: August 03, 2022, 09:58:04 PM »
I have recently reread the article entitled The Beginner's Guide To Christian Rapture on the CLE website. This article states:

Many of the problems people have had with the 490-year timeline is the date when the construction of the temple actually began because it is presumed that construction began under Darius I (reigned 522-486 BC), but it makes more sense that the construction began soon (i.e. six years) after Darius II (reigned 423-404 BC) began his rule.

However, this is when the temple was actually finished. The book of Ezra tells us that the foundation was laid during the reign of Cyrus, who made the decree to rebuild the temple, (Ezra 3:8-11) and that it was finished during the reign of Darius II.

Ezra 6:14 And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia. 15 And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.

Now, Daniel actually says this:

Daniel 9:24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalemunto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

This suggests to me that the rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem began AFTER the temple was finished. However:

Ezra chapter 4 tells us that the enemies of Judah and Benjamin did all they could to hinder the building that was going on, and they finally wrote a letter to Artaxerxes who, in turn, wrote a decree to stop the building of the city, but not the temple (Ezra 7).

Nehemiah was the cup bearer to Artaxerxes, and he got permission from the king to rebuild the city, so the question remains as to what exactly is meant by 'the going forth of the commandment.' I agree that it makes the most sense for Daniel's 70 weeks to be an unbroken period of 490 years, but I'm just trying to reconcile that timeline with what the Bible actually says about when the building was started and completed, both for the temple and the city.

I'm in a Bible study group with someone who believes and teaches that Daniel's 70th week is yet to happen, and I want to be able to show biblically that this can't be true.

General Discussion / Roe v. Wade: Why Now?
« on: June 27, 2022, 07:56:09 AM »
I just read a fascinating article, very well-written and thought out that explains the real agenda behind the overturning of Roe v. Wade, and why they waited until now to do it.

We all know that the globalist agenda has been for depopulation for a very long time now, so why the sudden overturning of Roe v. Wade now, after all this time? According to this author[ they had to wait until now, when the majority of people of child-bearing age have been injected with multiple doses of sterilising 'vaccines'. So now, the next thing is to discourage ALL intimate contact between people, to make sure people continue to live in isolation, interacting only with digital technology.

As we've already seen, this SCOTUS decision has sparked even more massive divisions in society than seen previously, and that is precisely what they wanted. And all this is just the tip of the iceberg...

General Discussion / What Is The Metaverse?
« on: November 13, 2021, 10:04:35 PM »
Chris mentioned something about not having ever gotten involved with VR (virtual reality) when talking about FB changing their name to Meta, and I wondered at the time what one had to do with the other, but I really didn't pay much attention to it. However, I found this video recently in one of my other Telegram groups, and it really opened my eyes to what is truly going on here.

A couple of disclaimers, however. I don't believe for a second that the guy who did this video is actually a Christian. I think he's in some sort of Hebrew Roots cult or something, because he refers to God as 'Yah" and to Jesus as 'Yeshua'. And I couldn't even find what sort of 'Bible' he's using because typing in the phrasing used in the verses he quoted didn't bring up a match. I just kept getting other popular versions. I even looked up his website, but he uses the NKJV there.

Anyway, the poor theology aside, he does do a good job of explaining what the Metaverse is and why it is so dangerous.

Evangelism / CLE Teachings Now on SoundCloud
« on: August 27, 2019, 12:49:41 PM »
I have started uploading the CLE teachings to SoundCloud.

https://soundcloud.com/user-23112682

Currently, the first 17 tracks are available for listening. I am away from home at the moment and the Internet connection here is very poor so I am uploading as time and bandwidth allow. I will be able to upload more quickly once I get home.

Chris, I made the account in your name, even though I used my own email address. This is just a very basic page for now, as I have not put any profile or background pictures on it. Please let me know if there are any pictures you would like me to use. Those will have to wait until I get home, too, though.

Bible Discussion / Revelation 9:2-10
« on: July 20, 2019, 05:27:48 AM »
Chris, you wrote at the end of your book on Psychology:

Quote
I want to share with readers some of the events of God's wrath coming to this world because I know that this is not taught much in church buildings. In context, the Lord Jesus Christ has come back and taken His elect with Him, but everyone else who has ever lived will remain on the earth, and after a span of 30 minutes, the most horrible things you could imagine will pour down onto the children of disobedience.

There will be burning and destruction, with entire continents being split apart:

And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit. And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man. And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them. And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces were as the faces of men. And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions. And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle. And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.
-Revelation 9:2-10

Could you please explain why, if the elect have already been taken by Christ at his return, it would be necessary to instruct the locusts to hurt 'only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads'?

I'm assuming these are the 144,000 which were sealed in Revelation 7, so please correct me if I'm wrong:

2 And I saw another angel ascending from the east, having the seal of the living God: and he cried with a loud voice to the four angels, to whom it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, 3 saying, Hurt not the earth, neither the sea, nor the trees, till we have sealed the servants of our God in their foreheads. 4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.

If these are the servants of God, why would they be left behind after everyone else was taken?

This chapter goes on to describe others who were standing before the throne:

9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; 10 and cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. 11 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.

13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 Therefore are they before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne shall dwell among them. 16 They shall hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither shall the sun light on them, nor any heat. 17 For the Lamb which is in the midst of the throne shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of waters: and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.

I highlighted the part where it says these people came out of 'great tribulation' but what great tribulation is being referred to? It just says 'great tribulation' not 'The Great Tribulation.' For all I know, these could be all the saints who have ever been martyred, from Stephen all the way down to those yet to lose their lives for the cause of Christ. I would say all of these endured 'great tribulation,' but again, I don't know if this is what this passage is referring to or not.

I have read Revelation a LOT, but I still get confused over the timeline of what happens when, especially in regards to events immediately preceding and following the return of Jesus Christ to earth.

General Discussion / Chlorine Dioxide and Autism
« on: July 05, 2019, 01:33:18 AM »
I found this very interesting article on the many causes of autism and what can be done about it. Basically, it is caused by a compromised immune system due to any number of environmental toxins, including glyphosate (Roundup).

Chlorine dioxide is very effective in killing pathogens and is cheaper and more effective than hydrogen peroxide.

This article also goes into what a brain-healthy diet should look like and there are plenty of links to other info.

HEADLINE: UK denies asylum to Iranian convert to Christianity, saying the religion is not 'peaceful'

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;

Btw, I think Fox has given up any pretense of being a 'conservative' news outlet. They were just bought out by Disney and the first thing they did was fire Judge Jeanine and hire Donna Brazile. Not that it really matters to me, since I haven't owned a television for years anyway, but Donna Brazile was caught feeding debate questions to Hillary Clinton during the election debates in 2016 and was heavily implicated in voter fraud during the 2018 midterm elections.

General Discussion / Satanic Priest For Bohemian Grove Blows Whistle
« on: March 07, 2019, 04:20:02 PM »
What I found fascinating about this video is how the guy originally got involved in Satanism. As a kid, he was obsessed with everything to do with the sci fi/fantasy genre, played Dungeons and Dragons every weekend and then started trying to find out if magic was real.

The sad part of the story is that he thinks he left Satanism by becoming a 'Christian' but the fact is, Satan just kept hold of him by allowing him to think  he was 'saved' by luring him into the Catholic church.

Another thing I found interesting is the fact that he grew up in a Baptist 'church' and then, as a Satanist, he would go into these churches to sow discord and cause the church to split. He did this many times, which just shows how lacking in discernment the people in these 'churches' really are.

General Discussion / Does Life Really Begin At Conception?
« on: March 06, 2019, 12:40:35 AM »
We've had a number of discussions about the Scripture which says:

Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.

When we were talking about Genesis and the flood, we also determined that insects are not considered life forms in the same way that people, animals, and birds are because they do not have blood. This raises the question: is a fertilised egg still considered a human life before it has a blood supply? I think the heart forms about two weeks into the gestation period.

General Discussion / Holllywood's Satanic Roots
« on: March 02, 2019, 09:12:46 AM »
This is a sermon by Jason Cooley that I thought was very good. This is the first time I've every come across him, so I don't know all of the doctrine he teaches. He's the pastor of a Baptist church, however, so I'm sure there's bound to be some leaven. It's fairly obvious he has the wrong idea about repentance because he said in the video that he was already done with that. He also stated as fact that Walt Disney was a 33rd degree Mason but I know Chris said he could find no definitive proof of that being the case.

For the most part, though, I thought this was very well done. He repeats a lot of stuff Chris has taught (including exposing Michael Landon) and there were a few new things I DIDN'T know before.

Bible Discussion / Revelation 20
« on: February 12, 2019, 07:11:38 PM »
Revelation 20:4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. 5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

7 And when the thousand years are expired, Satan shall be loosed out of his prison, 8 and shall go out to deceive the nations which are in the four quarters of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to battle: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea. 9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. 10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

This has bothered me for quite some time. The people living and reigning with Christ are 'the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands' and the Bible tells us that in the resurrection people neither marry or are given in marriage, so where do all these nations come from who are going to be deceived when Satan is loosed from the pit?

Revelation also tells us that 'the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.' Are they going to be deceived all over again after they're resurrected? Don't those who take part in the second resurrection go straight to the great white throne judgement?

Revelation 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Revelation 19 describes the war:

Revelation 19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

17 And I saw an angel standing in the sun; and he cried with a loud voice, saying to all the fowls that fly in the midst of heaven, Come and gather yourselves together unto the supper of the great God; 18 that ye may eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of mighty men, and the flesh of horses, and of them that sit on them, and the flesh of all men, both free and bond, both small and great. 19 And I saw the beast, and the kings of the earth, and their armies, gathered together to make war against him that sat on the horse, and against his army. 20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. 21 And the remnant were slain with the sword of him that sat upon the horse, which sword proceeded out of his mouth: and all the fowls were filled with their flesh.

I have always been under the impression that everyone left on earth who was not of Christ would be killed at this time. Is it possible there could be some survivors, maybe people who did not fight in the war, who could then repopulate the earth during the millennial kingdom?

Bible Discussion / Acts 23
« on: July 12, 2018, 06:35:07 PM »
Acts 23:12 And when it was day, certain of the Jews banded together, and bound themselves under a curse, saying that they would neither eat nor drink till they had killed Paul. 13 And they were more than forty which had made this conspiracy. 14 And they came to the chief priests and elders, and said, We have bound ourselves under a great curse, that we will eat nothing until we have slain Paul.

I was reading this earlier and just got to wondering; since they never got a chance to get to Paul, did these men break their vow or would they have let themselves starve to death?

I know the Bible is silent on this and the answer to this question will not be found there, but it got me curious, nevertheless...

General Discussion / Does the Title of the Pope Add Up to 666?
« on: July 08, 2018, 02:42:15 AM »
It has been mentioned before that if you add up all the letters in the title of the pope that translate into Roman numerals, the total comes out to 666. That title is Vicarius Filii Dei, which is Latin for Vicar of the Son of God. (Incidentally, the Anglican church still uses the term 'vicar' to refer to their clergy, but that's beside the point.)

Now the original statement is only true if you use the old Roman font and spell this title Vicarivs Filii Dei. (If you read a 1611 version of the KJB, the j's are always i's, and the letters u and v are frequently [nearly always] interchanged.) Here's how it works:

V = 5
I = 1
C= 100
A = 0
R = 0
I = 1
V = 5
S = 0

F = 0
I = 1
L = 50
I = 1
I = 1

D = 500
E = 0
I = 1

So, you have 500 + 100 + 50 + (2 x 5) + (6 x 1) = 666

No great earth-shattering revelation here, but it IS interesting...

Bible Discussion / What Was Joash Thinking?!
« on: April 29, 2018, 02:54:40 AM »
Joash has to be the most baffling king Judah ever had. For the life of me, I just cannot fathom why he would have done the things he did.

Here's a little background: Jehoram was the son of Jeshoshaphat and he was married to Athaliah, daughter of Ahab of Israel.

2 Kings 8:16 And in the fifth year of Joram the son of Ahab king of Israel, Jehoshaphat being then king of Judah, Jehoram the son of Jehoshaphat king of Judah began to reign. 17 Thirty and two years old was he when he began to reign; and he reigned eight years in Jerusalem. 18 And he walked in the way of the kings of Israel, as did the house of Ahab: for the daughter of Ahab was his wife: and he did evil in the sight of the Lord.

After Jehoram came Ahaziah:

2 Kings 8:26 Two and twenty years old was Ahaziah when he began to reign; and he reigned one year in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Athaliah, the daughter of Omri king of Israel.

Omri was actually the father of Ahab, so this bit does make sense.

Anyway, after Ahaziah was murdered, Athalia killed all of Jehoram's other children and took the throne for herself. Only Joash (later referred to as Jehoash) Ahaziah's infant son was saved. He was about a year old, since he was hidden in the temple for six years and then crowned king by Jehoiada the priest when he was seven.

2 Kings 11:1And when Athaliah the mother of Ahaziah saw that her son was dead, she arose and destroyed all the seed royal. 2 But Jehosheba, the daughter of king Joram, sister of Ahaziah, took Joash the son of Ahaziah, and stole him from among the king's sons which were slain; and they hid him, even him and his nurse, in the bedchamber from Athaliah, so that he was not slain. 3 And he was with her hid in the house of the Lord six years. And Athaliah did reign over the land.

4 And the seventh year Jehoiada sent and fetched the rulers over hundreds, with the captains and the guard, and brought them to him into the house of the Lord, and made a covenant with them, and took an oath of them in the house of the Lord, and shewed them the king's son.

17 And Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people, that they should be the Lord's people; between the king also and the people. 18 And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal, and brake it down; his altars and his images brake they in pieces thoroughly, and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord. 19 And he took the rulers over hundreds, and the captains, and the guard, and all the people of the land; and they brought down the king from the house of the Lord, and came by the way of the gate of the guard to the king's house. And he sat on the throne of the kings. 20 And all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was in quiet: and they slew Athaliah with the sword beside the king's house. 21 Seven years old was Jehoash when he began to reign.

2 Chronicles 22 actually gives more detail on this.

Okay, so Joash/Jehoash was raised in the temple for six years by Jehoiada the priest. Then Jehoiada gathered all the priests and Levites from all over Judah together along with an army and declared Joash king. After that, they went out and killed Athaliah. 2 Kings 12 and 2 Chronicles 24 detail how Joash ordered the priests to collect money to repair the temple and then REBUKED the priests, including Jehoiada, for collecting the money but not doing anything with it! He finally lit a fire under them and got the job done.

Now here's the bit that absolutely blows my mind:

2 Chronicles 24:15 But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died. 16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house. 17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them. 18 And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass. 19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear. 20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the Lord, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you. 21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the Lord. 22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

How could he just forsake God that quickly, start worshiping idols and then turn on Jehoiada's family like that? Like I said, it just blows my mind how someone could so completely turn around like that. It makes NO sense.
