Scoffer's Argument: One who is a skeptic against God's Word.

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

The Bible commands believers to murder homosexuals; therefore, God is evil and so is the Bible.

Bible Student's Answer: One who takes God's Word seriously.

The Old Testament law was given by God to the Jewish people, and included with those laws were also capital punishments that were to be carried out by Jewish governing authorities. Concerning Leviticus 20:13, it is the practice of what is known today as 'homosexuality', a practice the Bible calls 'sodomy'. Sodomy (named after the city of Sodom) is sexual actions against nature, meaning sexual interaction that is not naturally occurring, or not using sexual organs for their intended purposes, which would include, but not limited to, anal sex, homosexuality, and lesbianism. For this particular article, we will focus on the sodomite practice of sexual interaction between members of the same gender, and the Lord God gave the nation of Israel a capital punishment of death by public execution for the crime known today as 'homosexuality/lesbianism'.

And there were also sodomites [i.e. homosexuals] in the land: and they did according to all the abominations [i.e. things God hates with extreme hatred] of the nations which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

Before getting into details, I'd like to state the obvious: Christ's Church was NOT given commandments to issue ANY capital punishment for crimes. The scoffers never quote any verses where Christ commanded His church to go out and execute criminals, and that's because those verses don't exist. That job belongs to the governing rulers of the state; it does not belong to born again Christians. However, scoffers still love to put on a show of lies, and claim Christians are in hypocrisy on this matter, but the place where hypocrisy stands out the most concerning sodomites is in Israel today; they claim to be keepers of the Torah (i.e. first five books of the Bible), but they are one of the most tolerant nations for acceptance of homosexuals.

The main problem is that sodomy/homosexuality today is a political hot-topic, meaning that it's a popular debate of intrigue that people love reading about, so that means that people will bring it up to get a lot of attention, and that includes pastors and ministries. Because they're so focused on the attention they'll get from making statements on sodomy/homosexuality, they miss the foundation of fornication in the Bible.

In my experience, I've listened to people make the argument that the Bible doesn't make much mention of homosexuality, and to that point, I would agree. The Bible talks about it in a few places, and clearly points out it's an abomination in sin (case in point, Lev 20:13), but the Bible doesn't mention it that many times. However, the Bible doesn't need to mention homosexuality very much because homosexuals are already condemned under the sin of whoremongering, fornication, and adultery.

In an article written by a sodomite/homosexual, who hypocritically calls himself a "Christian," he posed the question "Does the Bible say homosexuals will go to hell?" His answer:

This homosexual author goes on to say that sodomites going to hell "is a myth" and a "modern Christian mis-interpretation." However, he/she misses the fact that fornicators in general will go to hell because fornication does not apply only to heterosexuals; this means ALL sinful sexual interaction, including same-sex fornication:

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

These sodomite/homosexual fornicators and adulterers will indeed end up in hell, just as MANY of the other heterosexual fornicators and adulterers, unless they come to repentance (i.e. greif and godly sorrow of wrongdoing). The Lord God will not suffer them in His Kingdom, because the lust of the eyes and lust of the flesh is not of the Father:

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.

As we just read, the lust of the flesh and eyes is not of the Father, which means God did not "create them gay" as many sodomites typically claim in a weak attempt to help justify (i.e. make an excuse for) their sin. To say that "God created a man with homosexual lust" is to say that God created sin, and that is a lie. (i.e. They're trying to put the blame of sin on God, which is blasphemy.) Nor is there any such thing as a "gay gene;" in fact, such a concept has been scientifically disproven by the very people who were trying to prove it existed.

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

There are a whole lot of people on their way to hell because of their fornication and adultery. Even the very act of cross-dressing (i.e. effeminate mentioned in 1Co 6:9) is a reflection of a wicked heart that is given over to the lust of the flesh.

The Bible tells us that God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather, that the wicked would stop living in sin:

Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

This is reflected in Christ's approach to the woman caught in adultery:

And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou?... So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her... And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

The woman was repentant in grief and godly sorrow of her wrongdoing, and Jesus forgave her, but He did not tell her it was acceptable to continue in her sin; rather, she should go and sin no more, just as sodomites/homosexuals should stop living in their sin. Again, the Old Testament law is full of civil punishments for crimes, homosexuality being one of those crimes, but today, Christians have no commandments to carry out those punishments, and anyone who would claim to be a Christian and live a fornicating, adulterous, and/or homosexual lifestyle, without repentance, are false converts. (i.e. They're not of Christ.)

When Christ said "he who is without sin among you," what He made them do is reflect upon themselves about their own sin, in that the entire crowd who had just condemned the woman to death, all were guilty of sins that were also worthy of death. Thus, they should not judge in hypocrisy, but judge righteous judgment; however, the homosexuals are looking to justify themselves rather than judge themselves:

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: [i.e. lesbians] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; [i.e. homosexuals] men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication... Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

The reason Romans 1 says "that they which commit such things are worthy of death" is because there is another crime besides homosexuality that was punishable by death, and that was fornication and adultery:

And the man that committeth adultery with another man's wife, even he that committeth adultery with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death.

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die, both the man that lay with the woman, and the woman: so shalt thou put away evil from Israel.
-Deuteronomy 22:22

According to God's law, if two unmarried people had sex, they were both to be stoned to death. (Deu 22:23-24) If a man raped a woman, he was to be put to death. (Deu 22:25) If anyone had sex with an animal, they were put to death. (Exd 22:19) God told the Jews to execute all those who committed sexual sins; homosexuality is just one sexual sin among many, but that one sin is so highly emphasized above the others in this generation because it's a political hot-topic that draws attention.

To help address the contradictions made by scoffers, there is a website called Evil Bible, created by a foolish, wicked man who hates the Living God and scoffs at His Word. They have a list of "Capital Punishment Crimes," under which they put Leviticus 20:13 about executing homosexuals, but the entire article is called "Murder in the Bible," in which the anonymous (i.e. coward) author says:
"The act of murder is rampant in the Bible. In much of the Bible, especially the Old Testament, there are laws that command that people be killed for absurd reasons..."

The reason this is so deceptive is that the author uses the term "murder" and "capital punishment" interchangeably. If capital punishment were murder, then every judge and jury who sentenced someone to execution would be guilty of murder, and they would be put on trial, which makes no sense. When a judge puts a man in prison, it doesn't mean the judge is guilty of kidnapping, any more than a judge is guilty of murder when he sentences a man to execution, but that's the type of illogical absurdities scoffers spew out of their wicked mouths when they have no interest in understanding the truth.

The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

God is not a murderer; God is the Judge that executes righteous judgments on mankind. His judgment on homosexuality is death in hell and the lake of fire, and unless these sodomites come to repentance (i.e. grief and godly sorrow of wrongdoing), and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ for salvation, they will burn with everlasting fire.

Sadly, we have a lot of sodomites/homosexuals running around professing themselves to be "Christians," but Christians do not make justification for sin. These wicked men and women are on their way to hell, but gather together and convince one another that Jesus is their Lord:

And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?
-Luke 6:46

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Notice that Jesus did not say few would come to him making these claims, but rather, He said MANY would come to Him and call him "Lord" because they claimed to believe on Him. Again, they were false converts that were not of Christ, and they will be cast into everlasting hellfire with no escape.

On the other hand, there are false preachers who make false claims about Christian doctrine; one of those is hateful, warmongering, false preacher Steven Anderson:
"A recent anti-homosexual Sunday sermon by Pastor Steven Anderson of Faithful Word Baptist Church in Tempe has gotten tens of thousands of views on YouTube. In it, Anderson declares that no 'queers' or 'homos' are allowed in the church, and never will be as long as he's pastor. He goes on to say killing gays is the way to an AIDS-free world by Christmas."

I'll address his foolishness on AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) in a moment, but this news article isn't exaggerating in any sense. This is exactly how Anderson speaks when he gives his leavened teachings; I've heard him say these same things myself. It's correct to rebuke the sin of sodomy/homosexuality, but Steven Anderson actually believes it's impossible for anyone who has had homosexual desires to be saved, while hypocritically preaching that salvation is not of works, and if you want to see word-for-word what he says on that topic, please read our article, "Wolves in Costume: Steven Anderson" to get all the quotes and references.

The article goes on to quote Anderson in one of his videos: "Here's what the Bible says, Leviticus 20:13, 'If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death. Their blood shall be upon them.' And that, my friend, is the cure for AIDS. It was right there in the Bible all along." -Steven L. Anderson, quoted by Tram Mai, "Pastor calls for killing gays to end AIDS," USA Today, Dec 4, 2014, retrieved May 16, 2018, [https://usat.ly/2q37Udr]

The problem with Anderson's comment on AIDS is the ASSUMPTION that AIDS is spread solely through homosexual activity, and that's simply not true. AIDS has been spread through fornication between men and women (heterosexual activity/fornication), and sadly, it's sometimes been spread through blood transfusions, and that's because AIDS spreads through body fluids in general, not solely through sexual intercourse between sodomites.

In fact, if you read our article, "The United VacciNations," you'll find the history of AIDS was traced back to vaccines, and the Merck employee who invented the DPT vaccine admitted to journalists in an interview that they brought AIDS into the U.S. through vaccines they made from imported African rhesus monkeys. I'm not arguing that sodomites/homosexuals don't transmit diseases between one another; certainly they do, but for Anderson to say that "killing all the homos" would make this country AIDS-free is a gross and willful ignorance of the problem at hand.

As I stated earlier, Anderson does not believe that homosexuals can be saved, so therefore, he shows them no mercy, and calls for their deaths, just as the hypocrites who brought the adulterous woman to Christ. Anderson's wicked heart drives his wrath, and he is so blind he cannot see that, though he has publically declared he is at war with homosexuals, and they are his enemies who he viciously hates, Christ taught us to love our enemy:

Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Again, if you read our article, "Wolves in Costume: Steven Anderson," you'll see video clips where he yells and screams at the top of his lungs from behind his pulpit that he will not pray for any homosexual; rather he says he will pray that they die and go to hell, and that's because he does not have the Spirit of God. Steven Anderson doesn't understand Christ's doctrines.

But he that received seed into the good ground is he that heareth the word, and understandeth it;

If fornicators (like homosexuals) call themselves Christians and will not repent of their sin, then they are to be kicked out of the church, but ALSO, if a railer (like Anderson) calls himself a Christian, and will not repent of his sin, then he is to be kicked out of the church. The Bible goes so far as to tell us not to even sit down and have a meal with those hypocrites.

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat... Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

Both homosexuals and Steven Anderson are supposed to be kicked out of the church, but there are many people on both sides of this debate who will not do what's right by Christ, and again, it's because they do not have the Spirit of God for understanding:

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Of course, some sodomites will think they're smart and say, "My partner and I have a marriage license, so we're not committing fornication!" That will be the common sodomite response today, but they're sitting in complete ignorance, thinking because they got a corporate business contract that the state calls "marriage," therefore, they're married. The fact is that they're not married at all, but they put the term "marriage" on the license to help them justify their wicked lifestyle. (Please read the article links below for more details.)

The final point I want to make is that, although homosexuality a filthy sin that disgusts many of us, why do we not judge ourselves first? Why do we not look within ourselves and see our own sin first, and how disgusting and filthy it is the eyes of God?

To hold up a sign that says "God Hates Fags," is railing accusation, not Biblical rebuke, and as we just read in 1Co 5, God does not allow place in the church for such behavior. Even when faced with the devil himself, Michael the archangel did not start calling the devil a bunch of slang terms, but rather, Michael rebuked the devil in the name of the Lord. Yet Michael the archangel, when contending with the devil he disputed about the body of Moses, durst not bring against him a railing accusation, but said, The Lord rebuke thee. -Jude 1:9

We call the unrighteous to repentance (i.e. grief and godly sorrow of wrongdoing) for the remission (i.e. forgiveness) of sins.

And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Are Christians commanded to kill homosexuals? Absolutely not, and though the sodomites/homosexuals commit sin worthy of death, we don't use the carnal weapons of warfare; we bring the philosophy (i.e. way of thinking) after Christ to pierce the hearts of the wicked unbelievers that they would come to repentance and be saved by grace through faith in the blood of Christ.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
